Great service, great food with fresh ingredients and great setting. I recommend the tuna roll.
Cozy hip great sushi. Locals favorite!
Decent sushi, small portion sizes though...
The food was incredible, and the servers were friendly and helpful.
Definitely the better half restaurants, make sure you get a reservation. The bartender, Kim, was super sweet and quick with our beers while we waited for a table. Only reason not five stars is the waitress forgot to put in our apps but the sushi came relatively fast. Great times great sushi excellent choice of local beer 👌.
Better than expected. Good sushi.
Awesome sushi. They serve fantastic interpretations of classic rolls as well as a diverse selection of their own creations. In addition, they have great hot food menu as well as a kids menu. Plus, the place was jammed packed -- always a good sign. I highly recommend!
Enjoyed the old/new space. Sat at the bar & ordered a bunch of sushi. My favorite thing to do. Ran into some old friends and met some new ones. Realizing how much time has gone by since Sato first opened in that original space made me appreciate how the restaurant has sustained over the years and adapted to keep sushi in Edwards! I look forward to supporting them with my sushi addiction for many more years to come.
Great sushi!
Fresh sushi in the mountains! Great location in Avon. I'm always suspicious about getting ocean and sea products up in the mountains, but this place has it nail. It's a very light cozy atmosphere indoors in the food is great. The chefs are fast and accurate. To get fresh tuna rolls in the mountains is it true miracle. Miso soup and shots of sake are sure to warm you to the bones.
Really dislike the new space, awkward layout, cold, unwelcoming, seems to be all new staff. Shame. Not sure if temporary space or what. I'll wait for warmer weather see how it goes. Never liked the cafe place that they moved into, which was also not a comfortable place to dine. Change and evolution are inevitable.
Very nice, fancy sushi restaurant (features more than sushi of course, but you're missing out if you don't order sushi) and overall delicious, high quality food. Would be a good place to take your date if you're looking to impress.
Last night they were swamped and yet the service and food was great
Awesome
Omg. The food is succulent. Truly a magnificent dining experience. In relation to quantum entanglement and string theory , I suggest making reservations during peak season.!!!!!
Fresh fish was good, appetizers lovely but staff less than friendly when we came in. They seemed bothered
The new space is horrible. Eggs in the morning, on one side, sushi restaurant on the other side. Such bad planning!
Great food, weak drinks
Awesome fresh sushi. Great service and an even better happy hour! THE locals spot for sushi.
Some of the best sushi we have ever eaten! Killer service! Sit at the sushi bar and the chefs are awesome and make great recommendations!
Good place to eat, very busy though.
Food was pretty good and the wait staff was great. Unfortunately the owner of the restaurant is extremely rude and ruined our experience. Was a total jerk to us when we arrived and asked for a table (not sure why he would be working host if he hated people so much). He came by to clear plates at one point, I said thank you, and he grunted at me and stormed off. We said thank you again upon leaving and received similar treatment. Our apologies for patronizing your establishment, kind sir. Sorry for inconveniencing you! Confirmed with a staff member outside that he was the owner and the staff member confirmed his attitude problem wasn't a temporary affliction. Oh well!
Amazing food.
Good sushi in Edward's Colorado
This combining of Cafe 163 by day into Sato’s at night is disastrous! The transition has been managed horribly with the worst service in all of the Edwards/Avon area restaurants. Sato’s sushi bar atmosphere and ambiance has been completely lost and the noise and server confusion/total lack of paying attention to the customer is appalling.DO NOT go here expecting either the once great Sato experience or that of Cafe 163! In all of my 20+ years here in this valley, I’ve never had a more disappointing experience than I’ve had at each of these former but now awkwardly, inappropriately mismatched new establishment!!!
I've had it with this place. It used to be so good! 10 years ago this was the best sushi in the Vail Valley. I think it survives today based on the memories of the past. It's dropped to be on par with other cheaper sushi restaurants in town, but still priced like it's top of the line. I don't think I'll risk another visit. Just go up valley if you're looking for awesome sushi. Or enjoy a lower bill at other restaurants down valley that are on par.
The food was good the service was nonexistent.
Pete the owner is a classic narcissist in my opinion. Food is way to salty like the owner.
The best in town for your money it's a must try great food.
My favorite.
Food is consistently good. Service varies from excellent to poor
Great food and service for all
Disappointing- They charge you higher prices than what is stated on their website. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and 2 philly rolls. The rolls were 6 tiny pieces each and it was $43 before tax. Don’t waste your money here.. drive to Vail to Matsuhisa, the sushi is much better and the rolls are cheaper!
We have been coming here for years and Sato never disappoints! Child friendly as well!
OMG!! I LOVE this place! The food is incredible!! Pete and the staff are wonderful, very personable.
Good food, but routinely poor service, especially for take out orders
